08/02/2017 [AGMP] Aboriginal Organisations to Talk Innovation at APO NT Forum
Wednesday 8 February 2017
Representatives of Aboriginal organisations from across the Northern Territory will converge on the Alice Springs Convention Centre for the APO NT Innovating to Succeed Forum on 3 March 2017.
“This is a free full day event for managers and board members of NT Aboriginal organisations to network and hear how others in the industry are using innovative approaches to successfully run their programs, expand their businesses and strengthen their sustainability in a self-determined way,” said Wes Miller, Manager of the APO NT Aboriginal Governance and Management Program which runs the forum.
The day will be opened by the Chief Minister and a keynote address from the 2016 National Indigenous Governance Award winner, Western Desert Dialysis. Participants will hear case studies from pioneering organisations such as the Warlpiri Youth Development Aboriginal Corporation, Central Australian Aboriginal Congress and the Palngun Wurnangat Aboriginal Corporation and others, on a range of topics including governance, succession planning, starting commercial ventures and transitioning to independence. Additionally government representatives will provide updates and Q&A discussion.
“If you want to learn more about how to develop innovative solutions to challenges, plan for change, or grow your organisation in a new and different way, we want to see you there,” said Wes Miller.
The event is free and fully catered. Register now at www.aboriginalgovernance.org.au.
