Maningrida is a remote Aboriginal community (population approximately 3,500 people) situated 520m km’s east of Darwin. The Malabam Health Board is seeking the services of an experienced person to provide leadership to our Aged Care Service; services include a mix of residential and community aged care that are flexible and culturally appropriate to meet the needs of older Aboriginal people in our community. The successful applicant for this position will have appropriate tertiary qualifications and have extensive experience in managing programs within an Aged Care service context
Key responsibilities in this role include: managing the Aged Care Flexible program; managing the recently acquired Commonwealth Home Care Packages and Home Support programs and Disability services; budget allocation/expenditure; maintaining of policy/procedures; coordinating the assessment of clients; complying with government requirements in relation to regulatory reporting; continuous quality improvement; risk assessment and advocacy on behalf of clients. The manager will also be required to provide leadership in restructuring the Aged Care service
