Harvey Williams – A proud Warumungu Man from Tennant Creek and a father of 2 girls who I love dearly. A passionate, hardworking, driven individual who doesn’t mind a new challenge even if it means travelling far from home.
I’ve had a very good upbringing, I was taught and nurtured by old people – basically I spent half my life at Papulu Appar Kari Language Centre where I grew up as a kid, and eventually I would start my employment career there as part of the Remote School Attendance Strategy program.
Whilst developing skills along the way I was very keen on a career with Anyinginyi Health – where I worked in multiple roles including Sports & recreation, Tackling indigenous Smoking and Mental Health.
Most recently, I worked as part of the Suicide prevention program at Catholic Care NT – Where I would engage with Youth, Men through cultural activities & yarning circles surrounding Social Emotional Wellbeing.
A bit more about me; I am a very outgoing person, I have very good music taste ranging from head banging music (IRON MAIDEN!) bit of Rhythm and Blues, hip Hop, country, and lately just whatever my daughter listens to!
I also love hunting and being on country (can’t wait for the wet season to come!) when the yellow goanna’s come out.
I see my role as Cultural Health & Healing/Workforce development Support unit officer with AMSANT as a beacon of opportunity for creating pathways and sparking up serious conversations about the direction of Cultural Healing and health in communities!
Other than that, I am just so happy to be working for AMSANT and looking forward to learning and thriving in the presence of the Larrakia people on their beautiful country.
Karmanta Karn, Thank you.
