This means bars, pubs, clubs, cinemas, indoor sporting venues and places of worship will be closed until further notice. Restaurants and cafes will offer takeaway only. At this stage, State Premiers and Chief Ministers have agreed that schools should remain open. Read the Prime Minister’s full media statement  here

There are now 5 confirmed cases in the NT, with no new cases recorded on Sunday. These are all cases of people who have recently travelled. There is no evidence that the virus has spread locally in the community in the NT. One of these cases is a NSW resident and so is officially considered a NSW case. The other four cases are NT residents. For regular updates on the situation in the Northern Territory, visit coronavirus.nt.gov.au.
