About Rosie
Rosie has been in the Territory for 15 years and is grateful to be based in Arrernte country in Mparntwe, Alice Springs. Rosie was drawn to come to the central desert because of family history: her Grandmother lived and worked up here for a long time, as a teacher. It made a big impression on her, but she struggled to talk about it. Histories can be so complex. Sometimes the only way we can understand them is by going there, sitting down and listening for a very long time.

Appreciated for her social sensitivity, creative insight and capacity for innovation, Rosie has adapted her broad skill-base to a wide variety of roles. She has been a key player facilitating complex health discussions in Indigenous communities, initiating culturally-safe practices in a government agency, working with young people and many other things. Her focus has been to empower communities to tackle difficult issues using local understanding and to facilitate the creative expression of local ideas and solutions.

To this end, she has worked with communities to produce booklets, events, audio resources, training programs, theatre, websites, quantitative and qualitative reports and more. A skilled facilitator, her leadership and communication styles combine engaging presence with adaptive understanding, enabling groups to feel both energized and heard. She deeply values working with people in the process of supporting their understanding to be made more visible and available and is grateful to work in this field.
