NDIS Ready Program

The National Disability Insurance Scheme Ready program is a new national initiative that supports the Aboriginal community controlled health sector through coordination of service-level NDIS feasibility assessment, readiness, planning, compliance and reporting.

(The NDIS itself is a Commonwealth scheme that entitles people with ‘permanent or significant’ disability to full funding for any ‘reasonable and necessary’ support needs related to their disability.)

The NDIS Ready program is funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS) and implemented through the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO).

AMSANT has received funding for a dedicated NDIS Ready engagement and sustainability project officer until 30 June 2022, to implement the program across the sector.
